Torah Cantillation
A game for learning the Torah cantillation marks — the signs above and below the words that carry the melody. It starts with the cantillation song and moves on to recognising each mark by shape and by sound.
טַעֲמֵי הַמִּקְרָא לִילָדִים 🎶
What your child learns
- Recognise each cantillation mark by its shape
- Identify a mark from the melody you hear
- Learn the order of the marks in the song
- Prepare for reading from the Torah
How the game works
It begins with the cantillation song and its recording, then a game where you find the right mark — sometimes by what you see, sometimes by what you hear.
Who it is for
For a child who already reads Hebrew. Especially suited to preparing for a bar mitzvah or a Torah reading.
For parents
Speakers or headphones are needed — half of this game is listening. There is no microphone and nothing your child says is recorded.
What language it is in
This page is in English. The game itself is in Hebrew — the subject being taught is Hebrew, so the letters, the vowel marks and the recordings stay in Hebrew.
